If anyone had any doubts that Apple’s new iPhone 4S would be successful with consumers, they’re certainly not talking now.
On October 7th, Apple opened up pre-orders for their iPhone 4S in the US, Japan, Germany, France, the UK and Canada. The unlocked 4S is available in every country except the US and Japan.
In just 24 hours, Apple reported that they received over $200 million dollars worth of pre-orders for the iPhone 4S. Since the 4S is available cheaper than the manufacturing cost, Apple will make even more as carriers pay the difference between the selling price and the actual cost of the product.
In just one day, Apple has made back the $200 million dollars they paid for the technology behind Siri, Apple’s new “personal assistant AI”. I wonder what the final pre-order sales figures will be?
