Nir Seigel, a student at the Royal College of Art, has unveiled plans for a 3D printed car.
The 3D printed car, which is being referred to as the “Genesis” won the Ā Pilkington Design Award for best design interpretation. The car amazingly assembles itself and it is hopeful that 3D printing will bring an entirely new method of auto manufacturing to the forefront. In addition to the environmental benefits of 3D printed cars, users will also benefit from being able to make customizations to their vehicles.
Just how feasible is the idea of a 3D printed car? Take a look at this article from Inhabit on the Urbee 2, a 3D printed car that is close to production.
