Here’s a really cool new start-up site from FreeWebs that’s still in its alpha stage. Fotowoosh is an online service which turns your images into 3D, zoomable and explorable images. As you can see from the animated pictures above, the service looks really impressive.
The 3D image is constructed using VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language), which means that to use the service, your gonna have to get yourself a VRML reader. Future browsers will most likely implement this format in. The system works best on outdoor images, and as the site says “[the] system automatically constructs simple �pop-up� 3D models, like those one would find in a children�s book”.
