In our current state of technological evolution, mobility is playing more and more of a role in our kids’ and our own lives, and the way we communicate with each other. Eric Pape writes about this phenomenon in an article on Slate, in which he describes how his toddler son started to mistake his father’s iPhone as his own mother.
Pape describes how showing his son pictures and videos of his mother on the device before he went to bed every night eventually led to a situation where the boy was referring to the phone as “Mama,” almost completely ignoring his biological mother even when she was in the same room, unless she happened to be on the phone, of course.
