Remember a few months ago, when Anonymous released an ominous video claiming that they were going to “kill Facebook”?
With the date fast-approaching, many people are beginning to wonder if there’s any credibility to the hacktivist group’s threat. According to Anonymous, they’re taking down Facebook because:
Facebook has been selling information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world. Some of these so-called whitehat infosec firms are working for authoritarian governments, such as those of Egypt and Syria.” — Anonymous
Though some people seem to be getting concerned as November 5th approaches, most people seem not to lend much credibility to this claim from Anonymous.
I would love for them to attack Facebook… Then they should turn there attention on the croprate greed and wipe out the consimer credit debt Fight club style but digitally
I wonder why everyone thinks that anonymous hasn’t already hacked facebook and are just waiting until november to execute?

I hope its taken down forever. ihope they do.
The group as a whole doesn’t want to kill Facebook, but a few “members” may bring it down.
Really, if Facebook went down, would that be all that bad?

I think Anonymous changed their target to Foxnews.com due to the biased nature of Fox’s coverage of the “Occupy Wallstreet” movement?
Oh man, I know atleast half a dozen peoples whose meaning in life would be lost. I don’t have facebook. I don’t think people care that I had a tuna sandwich for lunch and decided I should give the dog a bath. Fucking stupid slef absorbed bullshit. Your life is NOT interesting enough that anyone cares about the mundane details. Get over yourself.
hell yeah! i hope they do it, if for no other reason than to make a statement to the world that dishonest practices like that will become harder and less profitable in the future. i hope facebook’s stock value and overall value plummets so that the dinosaur will die allowing newer companies to take their place.
I was just on Facebook. Nothing’s happened yet….and I wouldn’t expect anything to happen. If people are tired of their personal information getting shared with businesses without permission, then they’ll stop using Facebook. My girlfriend left Facebook a couple years ago, and I rarely use it, so it won’t affect us much if it goes down. I have my social group on another site anyway.
i’d like to see facebook brought down just so the us police state would not be wasting taxpayers money on monitoring it.
