You might have already heard that Siri, the personal assistant on the iPhone 4S, is a bit racist. Okay, maybe that’s a bit extreme. Basically, Siri sometimes has trouble understanding commands from people with certain types of foreign accents.
Well, it looks like a group of hackers have figured out how to control Siri using only brainwaves. The project has been called “Project Black Mirror”, and here’s a really brief explanation on how it works:
The program can detect the signature patterns that indicate a certain word is being thought of. The program will then wait for a natural �release� in brain waves and assume the chain of commands is now complete and action is required.”
Though this current experiment requires a substantial amount of equipment, it’ll be interesting to see if this catches on. What cooler way to talk to your virtual personal assistant than through brainwaves?
