It’s hard to compete in the eReader market these days. Not too long ago we shared news about the Amazon Kindle FireĀ HD becoming the “basic Kindle fire.” Well, the Nook has stepped up its game with a $20 price drop.
Barnes and Noble have announced another $20 price drop for the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight in an attempt to undercut their competition. The first time Barnes and Noble dropped their prices they did so to match Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite, but this time their price cut is designed to expand their consumer base.
We can’t be sure if this price drop is an introduction to the release of a new Nook in coming months but rumor has it that Barnes and Noble won’t be playing in the hardware game for a while. Only time will tell if this is true or not.
