Why Some Businesses Choose Apple Products

Business owners have a variety of choices when selecting the technology to run their business, which includes issuing devices to employees. Despite the many options, a large number of companies choose Apple products, and for some, it’s exclusive.

For example, it’s pretty common for large companies to issue iPhones to employees. People who receive company iPhones are usually required to keep them in their protective case at all times to minimize the risk of damage.

Issuing Apple products to teams involves a significant financial investment. However, employers are willing to take the risk because studies have shown that Mac users are more productive and perform better at work. For instance, IBM found that macOS users exceed expectations 22% more often, they close high-value sales deals 16% more compared to Windows users, and macOS users are 17% less likely to leave the company.

Apple is a well-known leader when it comes to technology we use daily, whether it’s an iPhone, an iPad, a Macbook, or an Apple Watch. The brand is appealing and not just because of Apple’s sleek design and intuitive user experience. There’s far more to Apple than just aesthetics.

An intuitive user interface is a desirable spec

Although some people don’t consider user experience to be a specification akin to processor speed or RAM, it’s actually of equal importance. The user experience and user interface (UX/UI) of a device can determine the user’s efficiency and productivity while using that device.

For example, if a marketing team is forced to use laptops that require extensive clicking and swiping to access applications and folders, they’re going to be less efficient than a marketing team that uses laptops that minimize the number of required clicks. A large part of Apple’s intuitive user interface involves making everything easily accessible in as few clicks as possible.

An intuitive user interface supports a smooth workflow and high levels of productivity due to the lack of resistance and frustration experienced by the user while attempting to complete basic tasks.

The Apple experience is seamless and unchanging

One of the biggest reasons people prefer iOS and macOS over Windows is because there is only one company that makes iOS and macOS devices – Apple. Since the device manufacturer is the same company that makes the operating system, users get the same seamless experience regardless of the device. Apple has standards that all models meet, making quality assurance easy. This is more than just branding genius – it makes syncing multiple devices a breeze.

On the other hand, there are a ton of brands that manufacture laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other devices that use the Windows operating system. Unlike Apple, there is a lot of variation in how all of these laptops perform, and no two are the same. For example, if you buy an Acer Aspire Go 15 laptop today, when that becomes obsolete in a few years, you’ll have to get a different laptop and learn your way around a new device with a different user experience.

With Apple, the Macbook user experience stays the same and the only time anything changes is when there’s a new feature or some kind of upgrade, but even then it’s slight.

Another reason people prefer Apple is that the interface becomes so intuitive and natural that they can buy additional devices and know how to use them right away. There is no learning curve like there is with the various Windows-based devices.

Job seekers want Apple devices

For many people, not being issued an Apple device at work is a deal breaker. Companies that want to attract top talent are starting to realize this and are now issuing Apple laptops and smartphones to employees. For example, there are plenty of companies known to use Apple devices. Even Google has 40,000 Macs available for staff to use.

Job seekers who have high standards and know that Apple maintains their productivity will be more likely to take a job that issues Macbooks and other Apple devices.

Apple is a choice that supports business growth

At the end of the day, Apple devices are an investment that support and enhance employee productivity, which has a direct impact on the overall success of a business. Not everyone prefers Apple, but businesses that want to stay on the cutting edge and attract top talent should consider at least adding Apple as an option.
