“Our competitors are giants.” This is how developers Alex Andon, Nick Velander and Drew Hauck are describing their Chargerito; the smallest wall charger money can buy.
The trio of developers set out to crowd fund their new device, and have exceeded their $50,000 goal by quite a bit. $76,716. That’s right. Nearly 80 FRICKEN THOUSAND dollars. So this device isn’t just a pipe dream.
While the device is super duper minuscule, measuring in at only 53mm x 33mm x 18mm (2.1″ x 1.3″ x 0.7″), small size does have its weaknesses. I don’t know how I’d feel about leaning my phone perilously against the wall. Not too mention, being the phone addict that I am, I sort of like playing with my phone as it charges. Something that is nearly impossible with Chargerito.
AND you get your choice of a micro USB connection of Apple’s Lightning connection.
As far as portability goes, you’re not going to find anything else more convenient. You can even use its key-ring to strap it onto a lanyard or key chain. We’ll be looking for this in mass market form soon.
