A team of researchers at the University of Pittsburgh have accomplished the incredible and grown human heart tissue that can beat autonomously. The tissue was created using pluripotent stem cells that came fromĀ mature human skin. The cells were then attached to a mouse heart and within 20 days of receiving a steady blood supply the heart began to beat on its own. We are still a long way away from creating a complete artificial human heart, this research is incredibly promising for the future of medicine.
