This is what happens when one very ingenious man with a voided warranty and a broken iPod screen has some extra time on his hands. The iTop is an iPod which has been transformed into a very mini-laptop.
The iTop can run a full OS with all of the UI capabilities as a normal laptop. The hard drive sticks out the back of the iTop, yet DIYer Owen created its own little case made of metal. There are still some kinks to work out (including the fact that the screen doesn’t close all the way because of the taut wiring), but Owen plans to add on a few key features in the future, including iBoy controls. — Andrew Dobrow
