More Japanese inventiveness! Despite the title of this post, the Izumi Nose Washer does have a practical use, unlike some of the less useful Japanese inventions. With Spring around the corner, hay fever is a serious annoyance for millions of people worldwide. For those few hundred people who are actually willing to buy something this ridiculous, the Izumi could clear your nasal passages.
Squirt some water up your nose to create a “nose gargling” effect. Nothing will clean your nose any better. The Nose Washer works on an easy concept. The first compartment gets filled with table salt, the second with water, and then they mix for a cleansing saline solution. Temperature and water pressure (up to 1.25MPa) can be controlled for a more comfortable nose gargling experience. The price for effective nasal hygiene? 6980 yen ($60).
