Minecraft 1.7 is Finally Here, Fire Up the Pistons

Earlier this month, a trailer was released for future updates coming to Minecraft. Well, it seems that the piston feature from the video got everyone excited, so the team behind the game has released an update that just includes the pistons (among a few other features).

You can also expect sheep to be more deadly with this latest update (be afraid). The long-awaited “Adventure Mode” for the game will be released in Minecraft 1.8.

Here are some of the features you can expect in 1.7 (from the release notes):

• + Added pistons
• + Fire or redstone is now required to trigger TNT
• + Fences can be stacked
• + Added shears
• + Shears can be used to pick up leaf blocks
• + Shears can be used to shear sheep without hurting them
• * Sheep no longer drop wool from being punched
• – Removed Herobrine
