In less than two weeks, another Mars rover will be launched on an information-gathering mission.
On November 25th, NASA will be launching the “Curiosity” Mars rover, which is currently the most advanced rover ever sent on a Mars mission.
Curiositywill be transported to Mars by anAtlasV rocket. The rover is massive, weighing in at over 2000 pounds. The rover will start by exploring the Gale crater, which NASA has deemed as being “potentially habitable”.
The journey to Mars will take about nine months, if everything on the mission goes correctly. This means that the Curiosity should touch down on the red planet around August of 2012.
