Octa started producing their excellent range of tablet holders with backing from a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign. The Denver-based company’s range is named after animals and uses either a vacuum dock or a clamp (called the Spider) to hold tablets in place.

The other end of these devices can adhere to walls, desks, flat surfaces, etc. or can be placed on beds and couches.

In this review, we look at Octa’s Lynx – a robust clamp based tablet holder that you can attach to just about anything. The tablet on the other end can be an iPad, Android or Windows tab. The list of tablets incompatible with this holder is pretty short!

Features

What makes the Lynx stand out from Octa’s other products is the mechanical clamp. Octa’s other holders feature a vacuum docks, whereas the Lynx comes with a strong, easy-to-use mechanical clamp. Apart from the revolutionary clamp, the kit also has a basic tablet mount and a piece to connect it to the clamp.

And don’t worry; all of this comes in sleek packaging with instructions. The price tag on the Lynx is $99.99.

Pros

All of Octa’s products, not just the Lynx, have been given positive reviews almost universally. The Lynx is:

• flexible: the bridge will bend any which way for your viewing comfort
• compact: the individual pieces can be taken apart and stored conveniently
• strong: the solid technology behind the components means that your tabletwill stay put
• soft on your tablet: parts that attach to your tablet are rubberized to ensure a no slip grip and no scratches
• easy to assemble/disassemble
• perfect for making your tablet accessible while your hands are busy
• compatible with other components of Octa’s product range

Cons – Some assembly required: this is the only con I can think of. If you are easily confused by gadgetry, find assistance. Otherwise, there’s very little reason behind missing out on Lynx’s ingenuity!
