Yes, there are actually people in the United States that are deathly afraid of Wi-Fi.
Actually, it’s reported that 5% of all Americans believe that they suffer from EHS (Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity). Here’s just one quote from someone who believes they have EHS:
My face turns red, I get a headache, my vision changes, and it hurts to think. Last time [I was exposed] I started getting chest pains – and to me that’s becoming life-threatening.”
Other symptoms supposedly include burning skin, muscle twitching, extreme chronic pain… and a whole list of other issues.
Anyway, these people have finally found a place they can live without being exposed to the horrors of wireless signals. A town in West Virginia has an effective ban on wireless signals for 13,000 square miles. It’s called Green Bank, and it’s part of the “US Radio Quiet Zone”. In this area, cell phones are even banned.
