So yesterday was the 50th anniversary of man’s first venture into space. Yesterday was also the 99th anniversary of the Titanic sinking and the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War. It seems that history favors April 12th over, say, April 20th.

Fun Fact: Only the first two shuttle launches had the white external tank. The rest of them have the more familiar brown tank. The difference? Paint — the white tanks are painted as such while the brown ones are a result of NASA saying “screw that.”
