3D printing has been making headlines left and right lately - take for example our recent article on the 3D printed car. Today NASA makes news by implementing 3D printing for rocket parts that can handle 20,000 pounds of thrust!

We've sent astronauts to the moon in the past but the very thought of sending them to Mars is still a little more like science-fiction that scientific research!

For the past 20 years, astronomers have been refining a camera that promised the sharpest pictures possible of the night sky. The new camera is now being deployed at the high altitude Magellan telescope in Chile's Atacama desert.

According to one of Steve's most recent posts Neil deGrass Tyson goes down as noting that the 2008 bank bailout was "larger than the total 50 year history of NASA'S budget." This prompted Steve to go looking at how the tax dollars of the people of the United States are prioritized. Steve came up with this table to help to show the difference between science and military spending.

The image above is an official image taken of the surface of Mars by NASA. The image shows just what the surface of the thought-to-be barren planet looks like. Those concepts of the planet being barren are now being questioned by one science blogger however, who took it upon himself to zoom in to the image just about as far as he could.

According to a recent article by Space.com writer Clara Moskowitz, a meteorite that crashed in to the moon's surface on March 17 has resulted in a new hole on the moon's surface.
