Michelin has announced their new patented XDA5 tire design that could allow for your tires to last around 30% longer then they already do. With a design which incorporates multiple layers of treads, the tire simply sheds off its outer skin gradually which produces new quality treads underneath.
Michelin also redesigned the blocking of the treads, making a pattern which allows all of the blocks to interact which helps increase rigidity and decrease the chance of irregular tread patterns. The XDA5 design will only intially be availble for Class 8 rig types, but will eventually expand its line to further applications. — Andrew Dobrow
