Yesterday Microsoft announced that they will be making an option for 200GB of storage available for SkyDrive storage users.
SkyDrive which now comes as a built in feature in the Windows 8.1, is now being offered with a 200 GB option for just $100 per year. Compared to Google and Dropbox, SkyDrive has the lowest priced offering for such significant storage. SkyDrive caches regularly used files and folders on the users local machine and stores the rest of the data in the cloud.
Just how much storage is available through this SkyDrive option? According to Microsoft the 200 GB account is “enough space to take a photo, every hour, from the moment someone is born, to the day they graduate from college.”
Looking to get a 200 GB storage account free? Currently if you purchase a new Surface 2 or Surface 2 Pro you can automatically get a 200GB of SkyDrive storage for free for two years!
