YouTube channel thingsonmyhead was made specifically for one sole purpose, a series of videos where one Canadian man puts various objects on his head and stares at the screen for a few minutes, blinking, breathing, balancing, the usual. The variety of objects placed on his head so far include bread, a phone book, a dress shoe and of course, Parmesan cheese.
My best guess for the origin is Things on My Head is the prevalence of people asking people on webcam to put a shoe on their head to prove that they’re real, rather than an automated bot cam. Though the Shoe on Head craze didn’t start the same way it’s being used today. Check Encyclopedia Dramatica for more information about the Shoe on Head meme. But who knows, he could have a whole other ulterior motive. Hit the jump for a few more of my favorites.
