Tondon is an autonomous floor cleaner currently being used at a luxury Bali-themed apartment complex in Tokyo. We’ve seen robotic cleaners before, but Tondon isn’t exactly run of the mill.
The clean bot features an optical communication system that is able to control the complexes’ elevators, so it can move around freely throughout the grounds without a hassle. Special voice warnings are used to warn walkers of Tondon’s impending proximity, while sensors make sure that no collisions take place. Its set of four cameras also makes it a security guard of sorts. — Andrew Dobrow
