Via presented its itty bitty ITX motherboard over at Computex, and as you can see, even compared to the already miniature RAZR phone, the board is like the dwarf of phone hardware. The new motherboard from Via is planned to be integrated into x86 smartphones, so we could be seeing some much smaller cells pretty soon.
This 3 x 1.8 inch piece of circuitry is no dwarf in the power category though. It will rock a 1 GHz C7-S CPU with a decreased CX700 north and south chipset for faster processing time. It also manages to pack in a CDMA processor, along with 256 MB of 512 MB of RAM. A similar model also powers the Nanobook portable computer, so you can imagine how powerful this thing will be. — Andrew Dobrow
