Video games, the one-time hobby of the eternally shut-in (including myself), has become a mainstream form of entertainment that is running circles around other forms of mainstream media. As such, since Hollywood has the American Film Institute and music has the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the video game industry will soon… hopefully… have their own computer and video game museum in the heart of San Francisco.
MADE (Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment), is working to raise $20,000 before April 18th. This money would go towards funding the project, and would show potential investors that a Computer and Video Game Museum is a viable idea.
Assuming MADE makes it to $20,000, there is still a lot of work to do. Once the money is raised, the team will have to land the proper facility. The one they hope for is near the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Personally, I would love to see this project come to fruition. If you want to contribute, you can donate here. As of the time of this post, they’re close to the $16,000 mark with eighteen days to go so there is a realistic chance that this could work.
